Green With Envy

Heather! It's finished!

Well actually, it's been finished for almost a week now but I've been waiting for some warm weather to wash and block it (when you pin it out in the right shape for it to dry after a gentle soak/spin)

It's an 'Amy' pinafore in The March Sisters series designed by one of my favourite designers and online buddies, Kelly Brooker (gurnard on Ravelry).

This one is knit in Bendigo Woollen Mills yarn - an 8 ply 'Luxury' called Bracken and the yellowy colour is their Barley. GORGEOUSLY soft.

From the back - ribbing for a good fit

This one was knit as a custom order for my friend Heather
* she decided upon an Amy
* she selected the colours from a sample book I had
* she paid after I emailed her the invoice
* I ordered the delicious yarn from Australia at what I think is a really reasonable price for lovely yarn in a variety of colours
* Knitting began
* Voila! Ready for Heather to collect once she returns from Hong Kong.

It's as simple as that!

The March Sisters Pinafore Dresses

Here they are - a wonderful series of patterns that I am able to custom knit for you, again designed and developed by Kelly Brooker

The March Sisters
A Series of Pinafores for Little Women aged 0-5yrs

The March Sisters is a series of Pinafores inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women, which tells the tale of the four March Sisters transformations from girls to beautiful women.

The four patterns are similar (like sisters), however each pinafore exhibits subtle differences from one another.

Also available is ‘Pinny for a Dolly’. Little women love to wear pinafores, and adore it when their dolly wears something to match!

I have knit 3 of the Pinny for a Dolly patterns which are similar versions of the March Sisters

The patterns are:
 Beth
Beth is a pinafore for the quiet girl in your family; the ‘close to mama’, non-demanding daughter whom is content with plain, but cherishes a wee hint of lace and pretty

Jo
Jo is a pinafore for the tomboy; a simple, non-girly pinafore perfect for throwing over a long tee and pair of jeans, ready to jump around in the muck!

Meg
A pinafore exhibiting a clean silhouette accented with simple cable detailing.

This gives the pinafore a timeless, classic feel – perfect for the little miss who desperately wants to be
'grown up'

 Amy
A pinafore for the girly girl in your life; the girl that loves to spin, twirl, and feel pretty.

The little girl version has 3 layers of frills (the dolly version just has the simpler one layer)

Please contact me if you'd like to order a March Sisters Dress in 'Little Women' sizing (newborn-5 years) or a Pinny for a Dolly.

Prices are still to be confirmed as each dress uses a different amount of yarn (Amy versus Jo for example) as well as it being dependent upon the yarn used and size knitted.

Pinny's for a Dolly start at $20.

So Pretty!

Isn't this the cutest!? In fact, it's so cute I was dying to try it on Penny before it was even finished! So, that's why in the photo there's still a KP cable, and pins and trailing balls of yarn (I was completeing the straps)

I was lucky enough to test knit this for the fabulous Kelly Brooker. Yet another super pattern she's putting out, this one as part of the series - The March Sisters. This is the Amy.

I love that it looks perfect on Penny. It really isn't often that I knit something for her (I could count on 1 hand the number of things I have knitted for her...don't ask me to count for Tim because I think I've only knitted him a singlet and hat...eek). I knitted this in some fabulously soft merino/alpaca that was in my stash just waiting for the perfect pattern. I think this was it - it's definitely the nicest and softest item I've knitted to date.

But what was lovely was how much she loved it! 'Is it really for me Mummy? I's so pretty!'

Yes, yes you are darling.

This along with the other March Sisters dresses is available for me to custom knit for you. The awesome pattern includes sizes Newborn-5 years old in 4, 8 and 10ply yarn.
